What is a vice that’s being followed indiscriminately across age, language, or religion?

Procrastination.

It’s been with me forever. Whatever I plan for it goes for a toss. It’s all well and good and didn’t affect the day-to-day progress.

The AI.

I was planning to learn AI since 2018. Even before the GenAI became a commoners term. The thought that I would be somewhere else and be someone else if only I had spent time learning AI is still haunting me. That’s 8 years. I spend the majority time wasting watching TV shows and movies, instead.

What My Work Is Like?

I’m a Data Engineer and my day involves moving, cleaning the data around. The work is harmless as long as the requirements are well-defined. Some of the projects we take up comes with complete details. Some others come with some gaps, especially the hackathon-turned-projects.

How Is This Work Differs

I was part of data extraction team working towards a hackathon. This went well. The business is content and that leads to contract turning it into an actual project. During hackathon we used Excel files to fasten the process. But the production grade project should have API integrated and we worked towards it.

My line of work involves working with notebooks in most of the time. I hardly use VS code off late. I use copilot for fixing the errors and I’m not huge fan of vibe coding.

When today’s sprint ceremony goes slower than usual I got an idea on prototyping. The idea is simple - to have projects split across DE, visualization & AI. As I dont have access to PowerBi, I went with my preferred choice - D3JS.

The July 1 was celebrated as National Financial Freedom Day, in the US. Considering the fact that whatever the US does the rest of the world follows. So, lets talk about the financial freedom.

What Do They Mean

FI is different from FIRE. Financial freedom is a mystery. Retiring early is mystery wrapped in an enigma.

After completing the college we scattered across the geography, looking after our career path. We no longer able to connect with each other as like earlier. There were some commitments, duties to discharge and the distance grows between the friends, even phone calls reduced. But one weekend we gathered. There were visible discomfort among us.
